X-ray:

There is no specific preparation required for General or Dental X-rays

CT Abdomen:

Please have only fluids for four hours prior to your appointment

Upper Abdominal Ultrasound:

Do not eat or drink six hours before your appointment

Pelvic, Renal, Obstetric Ultrasound:

A full bladder is required. Drink one litre of water one hour before your appointment

Nuclear Medicine Myocardial Perfusion Scan:

Fast for four hours prior. No caffeine (coffee, tea, chocolate, cocoa, soft drinks) for 24 hours prior to examination. Please call us prior to the test to discuss whether you should take your normal medication on the morning of the appointment
